Australia Post – Supporting ANZAC
The great war of 1914-1918 touched the lives of all Australians; it defined Australia as a country and the type of people we would stand up to be. With 100 years past we still remember and honour the service and sacrifice of more than 61, 000 Australians who gave their lives, 155 000 who were physically wounded and tens of thousands more who carried the mental scars of war to their graves.
Our Anzac memorabilia is supplied directly from The Military Shop, Canberra. It is one of Australia’s biggest private donors to military linked charities. Over the years they have donated more than $800,000 to organisations dedicated to improving the lives of current and former serving members and their families.
You can become involved in supporting the 100-year traditions by lighting our remembrance candles, collecting medallion sets, playing traditional two up, or read stories and letters from adults and children.
The fifth and last stamp issue – “War Memorials’ in the century of Service” series is due to be released 10th April 2018. They feature the various forms these memorials take, and the different ways in which they express mourning and remembrance.
